Cross Country at Tockington and Colstons

48 Year 3 to 6 children went along to Tockington Manor to participate in the annual Cross Country Event. The team looked great in their school athletic t shirts and ran their little legs off to try to maintain the proud record we have at the event. Up against some tough opposition not only form local schools but other private schools from the wider area, the children ran extremely well. All of the training in the mornings, come rain or shine, certainly has paid off. The children did themselves proud and showed true determination and spirit as well as sportsmanship. Well done! Thank you to our parent running leaders Charlotte Meads, Sally Williams, Claire Bates and Jane Broadhurst for their sterling work in preparing the children for such challenges.

Next up was Colstons. Fresh from the success of last week’s event at Tockington the children were raring to get going. They ran brilliantly throughout the race, not stopping and showing that their training has paid off. The teams worked really well together encouraging each other which spurred them on. Our Year 3 and 4 girls team won the overall trophy for that age group, which was great! Individually Holly Boorman came second out of all the girls in Year 3 and 4 and Isaac Fleming matched that achievement by coming second in the boys race. Well done to all the runners and thank you to the parents who coach them each week. You should all be proud of yourselves.
