Year 6 SATs Information

You can find the parent information presentation as an attachment at the bottom of this page along with the revision schedules for what we will be covering in class for Maths and English. Remember to encourage your child to use the Padlet to help them with revision alongside their CGP Revision Guides. 

Welcome to Year5/6!  We hope that we all have a fantastic year together and form a safe, happy and caring class, who make great progress with our learning.  Please speak to us after school or email Mrs Barrett or Mrs Goode if you have any questions, concerns or if you have any positive feedback.

Guided Reading

We use an approach to Guided Reading session that combines comprehension practice with opportunities for reading for pleasure. To support this, please ensure your child has a book they would like to read in school with them each day. Termly tasks for reading are saved on our class Padlet (more detail can be found in the letter in the attachments section below.)

Spelling

Please see the spelling overview for the term below. We will be using the Essential Spelling and Word Knowledge approach, looking at root words, prefixes and suffixes, and the rules which determine how these combine to form words. Please see the letter below for more info and an overview of our patterns for this term. Here are some suggestions for techniques you could use to practise at home.
