In Year 1, when teaching Early Reading, we focus on learning the year 1 sounds following the Essential Letters and Sounds programme and also the year 1 harder to read and write words.

 In year 2, the children will follow the Essential letters and Sounds  Spelling Programme and will also be developing their reading comprehension skills. 

Reading books will be changed every Friday for the Year 1 children and every Monday for the Year 2 children.
