Timings
Our class will continue to follow these times:
Start of day: 8.55am (entering through the cloakroom door in the Key Stage 1 playground)
End of the day: 3:30pm (leaving also, through the cloakroom door in the Key Stage 1 playground)
PE
Our class PE days will continue to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on those days.
FOREST SKILLS
Forest Skills wil take place every Tuesday afternoon, please ensure your child comes to school in their Forest Skills clothes on this day.
READING BOOKS
The children will only be required to bring their book bags in on Mondays. This should include their Reading Record and school reading books. These will be changed and sent home the same day. All school reading books will be wiped down and left for 72 hours before another child can take them home. Due to this, we will be limiting the number of books children take home to 3 each week.
PHONICS
We will be continuing to cover the Y1 Curriculum and sound patterns. Please see the attached tab for our phonic lists and homework sheets, we will have a phonic spelling test every fortnight on a Friday.
ENGLISH
This term we will be reading the wonderful story Jack and the Beanstalk by Richard Walker.
MATHS
Our first unit this term is Multiplication & Division. This will be followed by a unit on Fractions.

TOPIC
We will be starting an exciting new topic this term, 'Castles and Dragons'.
SCIENCE
This term our theme is 'Plants'. This includes learning about different types of plants, what plants need to grow and the parts of a plant.
Our Collective Worship theme for this term is 'Creativity' and our British Value is 'Rule of Law'.
Our Heartsmart focus is 'Don't hold on to what is wrong'.
